Researched for: Sermorelin evidence and protocol review
Also known as: GRF 1-29, GHRH 1-29
Sermorelin is a 29-amino-acid fragment matching the biologically active N-terminal sequence of endogenous human GHRH. It was FDA-approved as Geref for diagnostic and pediatric GH-deficiency use, but the manufacturer withdrew it from the US market in 2008 for commercial (not safety) reasons. It is still prescribed via compounding pharmacies and remains a reference GHRH agonist in GH-axis research, generally shorter-acting than DAC-modified analogs.

GEREF was discontinued for reasons other than safety or effectiveness. The record now preserves both the historical diagnostic and pediatric treatment protocols and clearly excludes unsupported adult anti-aging schedules.
Supplementary research context only. Not medical advice or a treatment recommendation.
