Catalog Description

Kisspeptin-10 (KP-10) is the bioactive C-terminal decapeptide fragment of kisspeptin-54, acting on GPR54 (KISS1R) receptors to stimulate hypothalamic GnRH pulsatility and downstream LH/FSH release. Human studies report a sexually dimorphic response: KP-10 stimulates gonadotropin release in men and in women during the preovulatory phase, but fails to do so in women during the follicular phase. A direct comparison trial found intravenous kisspeptin-10 and kisspeptin-54 produced similar gonadotrophin secretion in healthy men, though native GnRH was more potent than either kisspeptin isoform - kisspeptin may nonetheless act more physiologically than direct GnRH-receptor agonists.

Research Profile

Half-Life
Approximately 4 minutes in human plasma following IV bolus; ultrashort-lived (in vitro plasma stability closer to 1 minute), so downstream LH effects outlast the circulating peptide itself.
Onset
LH rose rapidly and peaked at about 30 minutes after a 1 mcg/kg IV bolus
Administration Routes (Research)
Intravenous (IV)Laboratory / preclinical

Reported Research Effects

Context: The catalog identifies this route, but its reviewed sources do not establish a separate amount and schedule for it.

Route safety: Non-human or laboratory exposure. It cannot be converted into a human dose.

Do not convert an amount between routes. Bioavailability, formulation, sterility, monitoring, and clinical context differ by route. Research-use context only; independently verify every cited source.

Research Interactions

Flagged Avoid / Caution Combinations (Research)

Reflects patterns reported in research/community literature only. Not a safety guarantee, medical advice, or interaction warning for human use.

Research Notes

Kisspeptin-10 has human physiology data but no approved self-use product. Dose-response was nonmonotonic in the cited study, with 3 mcg/kg producing less LH response than 1 mcg/kg.

Supplementary research context only. Not medical advice or a treatment recommendation.
