Researched for: gonadorelin diagnostic and label status
Also known as: GnRH, LHRH
Gonadorelin is a synthetic decapeptide identical to endogenous gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH/LHRH). It stimulates pituitary gonadotroph cells to release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). Because continuous GnRH-receptor stimulation causes downregulation/desensitization, research and clinical use of gonadorelin has historically relied on pulsatile administration to better mimic the body's natural pulsatile GnRH release pattern and sustain LH/FSH output.
