Catalog Description

Fisetin is a plant flavonoid studied as a senolytic compound (selectively promoting clearance of senescent cells). In a Mayo Clinic pilot study, older women with osteoarthritis who took fisetin for 2 consecutive days showed decreased circulating senescence biomarkers. Fisetin is also being evaluated in the registered clinical trial NCT03430037 for effects on frailty and inflammation in older adults - one of the more advanced human senolytic trials to date, though results remain early-stage relative to the compound's broader marketing as an anti-aging supplement.

Catalog descriptions reflect research context only. Not a medical claim or treatment recommendation.

Research Profile

Half-Life
Human elimination is not well defined and oral bioavailability is low and formulation-dependent
Onset
Human senolytic trials assess biomarkers and function over weeks to months rather than an acute subjective onset
Administration Routes (Research)
Oral

Research Interactions

Flagged Avoid / Caution Combinations (Research)

Reflects patterns reported in research/community literature only. Not a safety guarantee, medical advice, or interaction warning for human use.

Research Notes

The 20 mg/kg regimen is now used in registered human research but efficacy remains investigational. Reddit's so-called Mayo protocol reflects trial dosing and is anecdotal outside trials.

Supplementary research context only. Not medical advice or a treatment recommendation.
