Catalog Description

Apelin-36 is a 36-amino-acid endogenous ligand of APLNR/APJ. Human vascular physiology work compared apelin-36 with [Pyr1]apelin-13 using local intravenous infusion. The isoforms differ in receptor trafficking and metabolic stability, so apelin-36 should not inherit apelin-13 pharmacokinetic claims. It remains a laboratory peptide with no approved therapeutic indication.

Catalog descriptions reflect research context only. Not a medical claim or treatment recommendation.

Research Profile

Half-Life
Approximately less than 5 minutes in healthy human subjects, based on rapid proteolytic degradation by ACE2 and neprilysin.
Onset
Vascular responses were measured during infusion; no validated therapeutic onset exists
Administration Routes (Research)
Intravenous (IV)Laboratory / preclinical

Context: human vascular physiology study PMID 18772060

Formulation: Route-specific sterile formulation and professional handling requirements apply; concentration cannot be inferred from an oral or topical product.

Route safety: Non-human or laboratory exposure. It cannot be converted into a human dose.

Laboratory / preclinical Preclinical only

No route-specific amount established in the reviewed record.

Technique
Laboratory model-dependent
Evidence
Route noted; protocol not established

Context: The catalog identifies this route, but its reviewed sources do not establish a separate amount and schedule for it.

Route safety: Non-human or laboratory exposure. It cannot be converted into a human dose.

Do not convert an amount between routes. Bioavailability, formulation, sterility, monitoring, and clinical context differ by route. Research-use context only; independently verify every cited source.

Research Interactions

Flagged Avoid / Caution Combinations (Research)

Reflects patterns reported in research/community literature only. Not a safety guarantee, medical advice, or interaction warning for human use.

Research Notes

Current scientific catalogs consistently list 1 mg packs. Human work used controlled IV infusion, not community SC administration.

Supplementary research context only. Not medical advice or a treatment recommendation.
