Catalog Description

Cagrilintide is an acylated long-acting amylin analog developed for once-weekly subcutaneous administration. A Phase 2 dose-finding trial studied 0.3-4.5 mg weekly, and 2025 Phase 3 trials evaluated 2.4 mg cagrilintide alone and co-administered with 2.4 mg semaglutide. These results support investigational clinical evidence but do not make gray-market lyophilized vials equivalent to the investigational trial formulation. Cagrilintide remains unapproved as of July 2026.

Catalog descriptions reflect research context only. Not a medical claim or treatment recommendation.

Research Profile

Half-Life
Approximately 180 hours (about 7-8 days) based on published Phase 1/1b pharmacokinetic data, consistent with once-weekly dosing; steady state is reached after about 5 weeks of repeated dosing.
Onset
Pharmacologic exposure is sustained weekly; efficacy outcomes were assessed over months
Administration Routes (Research)
Subcutaneous (SC)

Reported Research Effects

Research Notes

Cagrilintide remains investigational in the United States. The exact Phase 2 monotherapy escalation differed by assigned target and was only described publicly as lasting up to six weeks; a community 0.25-to-2.4 mg ladder must not be mislabeled as that Phase 2 monotherapy protocol. The explicit 0.25-to-2.4 mg matched ladder belongs to the CagriSema development program.

Supplementary research context only. Not medical advice or a treatment recommendation.
